Apartment in Arco do Cego

Appleton e Domingos

Lisbon,
Portugal

( GOOGLE MAPS )
The apartment is located in the Arco do Cego neighborhood in Lisbon. The attic was transformed into a living room and kitchen. The two most hidden corners were used to open up the patio and the staircase.
On the lower floor, all the rooms are bedrooms and the old kitchen has been converted into two bathrooms. The house is bright, the floor is made of old pine and the walls and ceiling are covered with pine planks painted with a white stain.
On the upper floor, the flooring is made of Ipê wood and the ceiling is covered with birch plywood. The stainless steel window frames in the patio take on an irregular polyhedral shape that results directly from the geometry of the roof.
